For us, sustainability also means regularly reviewing our targets and adjusting them based on improved data. That is why we have revised our CO₂e intensity target.
The previous target - to reduce CO₂e intensity to 250 kg CO₂e per TEUR of revenue by the end of 2026 - was based on a data set following the Pareto principle, in which only the products and activities with the highest emissions were initially included.
We have since significantly expanded our data set and now capture all relevant products and activities. This transition to a comprehensive, 100% data set has substantially improved the quality and reliability of our emissions data. At the same time, the current figures are only partially comparable with the previous metrics.
Climate Targets Updated: What We’re Working Toward
Against this backdrop, we have defined a new CO₂e intensity target: By 2030, we aim to reduce CO₂e intensity from 341.5 kg CO₂e per TEUR of revenue in the base year 2024 to 310 kg CO₂e per TEUR of revenue. This corresponds to a targeted reduction of approximately 9%.
Positive trend already visible
A positive trend is already evident today. While CO₂e intensity stood at 341.5 kg CO₂e per TEUR of revenue in 2024, it was reduced to 318.5 kg CO₂e per TEUR of revenue in 2025.
This trend shows that the measures already implemented are having an effect. At the same time, we view the progress made as a milestone on the path toward further reducing our greenhouse gas emissions.
Our Climate Goals
Using 2024 as the base year, we have set the following goals:
• Scope 1: Reduction from 1,795 metric tons of CO₂e to 1,695 metric tons of CO₂e by the end of 2027
• Scope 2: 0 metric tons of CO₂e at the production site through the use of green electricity
• Scope 3: Reduction from 36,177 metric tons of CO₂e to 35,177 metric tons of CO₂e by the end of 2027
• CO₂e intensity: Reduction from 341.5 kg CO₂e per TEUR of revenue (2024) to 310 kg CO₂e per TEUR of revenue by 2030
Measures to Achieve the Targets
Various measures have already been implemented or initiated to support these goals. These include, among others:
• new HVAC systems with heat recovery,
• use of HVO100 fuel for industrial trucks,
• gradual electrification of the vehicle fleet,
• optimization of raw materials, packaging, and transportation processes.
Additional measures, including further activities at our subsidiaries, are continuously being reviewed and developed.
With these new targets, we are establishing a transparent and robust foundation to manage our emissions even more precisely in the future and to document our progress in a traceable manner.
