Sustainability is not only evident in products or processes—it starts in the company parking lot. Dr. Weigert is setting a good example here and is gradually making its mobility more climate-friendly.
The company fleet currently comprises 86 vehicles, of which:
- 28 are electric vehicles
- 5 are plug-in hybrids
- 53 are diesel
This means that almost 40% of the vehicles already have alternative drive systems. The trend is clearly rising. More employees are consciously opting for an electric or hybrid vehicle, not least because of the attractive charging options available on site.
Lower consumption, greater responsibility
The switch is also having a measurable impact:
The average diesel consumption of the entire fleet has fallen from 5.6 liters (2023) to 3.9 liters today – a significant step toward reducing CO₂ emissions.
The additional electricity consumption of the electric vehicles is considered CO₂-neutral, as Dr. Weigert purchases 100% “green electricity.”
Charging, where sustainability begins
There are currently four wall boxes with a total of eight charging points available at the Hamburg site. They are used by both company cars and employees with private electric vehicles – a total of 20 active users.
The charging infrastructure has already prompted several employees to opt for an electric or hybrid model – a strong sign of how internal offers can support change.
Consciously regional: company cars from German production
Dr. Weigert also focuses on responsibility when it comes to vehicle procurement:
All company cars come from German manufacturers, preferably from German production. In this way, the company strengthens regional value creation and reduces transport distances.
Conclusion: A fleet on course for the future
The development of the fleet shows that sustainable mobility is not only possible, but also offers real added value for companies and employees.
Dr. Weigert proves how voluntary commitment and practical infrastructure go hand in hand to lead to noticeably greener mobility.
